The straddle is a dying art, used now by only a few jumpers around the world, mostly masters jumpers over the age of 60. • I believe that the straddle is still a viable technique and would love to see it rediscovered and used by more jumpers. Like any sports technique, it is not for everyone but may suit some athletes better than the universally accepted Fosbury Flop. The Flop is a great and innovative style, but there are other options available :-). • This performance was inspired by all my masters high jump friends, especially the remaining straddlers.
