In this video, we’ll show the wired method, which lets you transfer the broadest set of files. • To Switch, you’ll need your old device, your new Galaxy device, a USB cable, and the USB to USB-C adaptor that came with your new phone. • Before you begin using Smart Switch, make sure to: back up your data to iCloud, deregister your iMessage account, and have your iCloud ID and password handy. • Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the Smart Switch app installed on your Galaxy device. It’s preloaded and also available in the Google Play store. Also, don’t switch your SIM card to your new phone until the entire transfer is complete. • To get started, connect your iPhone and new Galaxy phone with the cable and adaptor. • Open Smart Switch on your new phone. Then select Receive Data. • When offered a choice on how to connect, select Cable. • A pop-up will appear on your iPhone asking if you trust the connected device. Tap Trust and enter your iPhone passcode if prompted. On your Galaxy smartphone, tap Next. • Smart Switch will now search your old device for any content that you are able to transfer. You’ll see a list of all the available content. Select the content you would like to transfer, then tap Transfer to continue. • Smart Switch will copy the selected content from your old device to your new phone. This may take a while, especially if you have a lot of content on your old phone. • Once the transfer is complete, you’ll see a summary of all the content transferred.
