This video was taken following the teardown of the right side of the engine and removal of the timing cover. It is not intended to be a step by step guide, rather a set of gotchas I encountered during the teardown. The vehicle (a 2009 Buick Enclave) has a check engine light with a code of P0008, indicating timing chain wear, and the vehicle demonstrates poor performance when driving. From my research this issue is a known and common major repair needed between 100K and 180K miles on vehicles with the 3.6l VVT motor. This repair is not recommended for amateur mechanics (such as myself) and would be much easier if a lift was used to drop the engine from the vehicle as demonstrated in other videos on youtube. This is an interference engine and any error in the reinstallation of the timing chains will result in catastrophic engine damage - proceed with extreme caution. • Cloyes provides an excellent video on the actual timing chain replacement:    • GM 2.8/3.0/3.2/3.6L Timing Chain Repl...  . • Gear puller for Harmonic Balancer: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece...
