Well, that's exactly what Leif did on his first solo. Leif is a 40-something year old student pilot who has been putting aside the time and money to get started. Once we started working together, we flew almost every day. His progress toward this first solo flight has been rapid and, frankly, a lot of fun. • In this video you'll see my as the instructor do two patterns with Leif. This is just to verify that everything stuck from our last lesson. Then, I get out of the airplane and standby as Leif flies solo. • He did a great job with his first takeoff, and first landing, and really everything else as well. Perfect? No. But we're not going for perfection here. Rather, the first solo flight is his chance to go at it alone, and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for his aviation dream. • It's really not THAT hard to become a pilot. Learning to fly can be a lot of fun. It does take time, money and effort.
