In Section 18, we'll walk through everything you need to know to tackle any percent question you encounter on the SAT. NOTE: All info in this video applies to the DIGITAL SAT, but there are some points to keep in mind. Calculators are now allowed on ALL math questions (a Desmos calculator is built in to the testing app) and the “grid ins” (self-produced response questions) now allow for a wider range of answers (up to 5 digits, negative numbers, etc). Regarding calculator use, we recommend students continue to attempt the “no calculator” questions in our manual without a calculator, but if they feel they must use one, they certainly can. As for the grid-ins, those in our manual abide by the paper test rules, not the DSAT ones. • CONTENTS: • 00:00 - Introduction • 01:07 - Percent definition • 02:27 - 18.1 Percent translation • 04:18 - Example 1 • 07:05 - Example 2 • 13:46 - SM.274 • 13:49 - 18.2 Percent increase/decrease • 14:42 - Two-step percent increase/decrease • 16:22 - Example 3 • 18:25 - One-step percent increase/decrease • 22:57 - Example 4 • 25:05 - Example 5 • 27:34 - SM.275 • 28:12 - Example 6 • 29:53 - Converting % change into a multiplier • 31:07 - Example 7 • 35:24 - Multiple percent changes • 35:43 - Example 8 • 39:12 - SM.276 • 39:17 - Example 9 • 45:01 - Repeating % changes (exponential funcs) • 50:45 - Example 10 • 53:44 - SM.277 • 53:51 - Calculating a % change • 54:21 - Percent change formula • 55:53 - Example 11
