In this video, we will discuss the phase-shift oscillator circuit. This oscillator is composed of a gain stage (inverting amplifier) and a feedback network (third-order cascaded RC circuit). The circuit includes one op-amp, four resistors, and three capacitors. • We will begin with explaining the oscillation principle and the requirements for oscillation using the Barkhausen criterion. We will determine the expression of the oscillation frequency and the required gain for the gain stage of the circuit. We will use the node voltage method, the ideal op-amp characteristics, and the oscillation criterion to calculate the required component values.
