This laptop would only boot up to this blue screen that reported the Boot Configuration Data File doesn't contain valid information for an operating system. After press F11 during power up you could get into recovery option that would not work. The only option that worked was the Recovery Manager utility called Minimized Image Recovery. The only problem is that the laptop recovered to the original windows 8.1 and not Windows 10 that was the free upgraded operating system from Microsoft during that free upgrade period. I found this information afterwards that might have been a better option. • Access the Command Prompt like you did before and try the following: • • Type Bootrec /RebuildBcd, and then press ENTER. • If the Bootrec.exe tool runs successfully, it presents you with an installation path of a Windows directory. • To add the entry to the BCD store, type Yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry was added successfully. • If the Bootrec.exe tool cannot locate any missing Windows installations, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. • To do this, type the following commands in bold in the order which they are presented: • Bcdedit /export C:\\BCD_Backup • ren c:\\boot\\bcd bcd.old • Bootrec /rebuildbcd • Amazon http://amzn.to/2zMoNBW • http://amzn.to/2j0cAj4 • You can help support this Channel by using the Amazon Affiliate links above for any of your future Amazon purchases.
