Before Godzilla, there was Dagon. • Godzilla is not a unique organism but in fact was part of a larger species. One of the last survivors was Dagon whose bones we see in Godzilla 2015. • Writer Arvid Nelson expanded on Dagon’s lore and indicated he had a more peaceful relationship with humans over the current iteration of Godzilla. • His fate was tragic however. He battled the MUTOs Prime who defeated him and infected him with its young.
