The hybrid maps in Overwatch are a standout example of great level design in a game that contains a multitude of noteworthy maps. The way that the designers combined elements from both Assault (2CP) and Escort (Payload) maps allowed them to create a unique Hybrid style that encourages and supports many types of playstyles. • In this video, I discuss how the maps Blizzard World, Eichenwalde, Hollywood, King's Row, and Numbani all follow a similar template that defines the Hybrid style map, and highlight why this resulted in some of the game's most notable level design.
