In this video I show how to prune Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' in mid to late winter and take cuttings from the left over trimmings. • Things to note; • Do not try this with other Hydrangeas other than Annabelle or it will adversely effect flowering. It can be done with established paniculata varieties. • When doing cuttings make sure the polarity is correct (they are the right way up) you can mark the top of the cutting with a sloping cut but its easy enough to tell without because the buds always point upwards. • Cuttings should be made around a foot long be pencil thickness with at least 3 nodes (Pair of buds). Make a cut just below a node at the bottom of the cutting and just above at the top. No rooting hormone is necessary. • Thanks for watching please like and subscribe if you enjoyed the video and we'll keep making them! • Mike • Instagram@plantrevelations • www.plantrevelations.co.uk
