It has to be tight, your hihat will spin otherwise. Tighten it on the mechanic at the bottom of the stand and in the middle, you can use a gripper for it. Also change the spring tension of the hihat stand as the vh-11 pad is really heavy. • • Remove the felt and apply the insulating plate before attaching the motion sensor. The jack plug has to point to the right side. Apply the cymbal including clutch, don’t tighten the clutch screw yet. Make sure that the name “Roland” on the hihat is on the opposite side of the stand from the hihat pedal • • Plug in the cables and secure them in place with a cable tie, while leaving some slack in the cables. • • Adjust the gap between the metal portion in the center of the lower hihat and the sensor’s center tip to a clearance of approximately 3 mm, then tighten the clutch screw. • Press setup, trigger and advanced on the module to see the hihat sensor menu. Press the pedal carefuly down and tighten the cutch screw. The indicator shows a half open hihat. • Which means the clutch is not applied at the right position. • You shouldn’t hear this metallic noise if you close the hihat. Otherwise you’ll need to twist the nut on the clutch. Turn it to the right side (closed) until the noise is gone. • Now change the position of the clutch again. Loose the screw, press the pedal a bit down and fix it again. Repeat this step until the indicator is on top of the scale. However the indicator should react as soon as the pedal gets pushed. • Time for a test. Check out if the hihat triggers accurate while playing. It shouldn’t spin.
