It's Ilo and today we'll go over the basics on how to set up your first hookah and what you'll need to get started. And here's what you'll need: Hookah pipe, hookah tongs, hose, funnel bowl. I'm using the Fumari rook, your favorite Fumari tobacco, heavy-duty aluminum foil or a heat management device like the Kaloud Lotus, Fumari poker or toothpick, coconut charcoal and of course the Fumari burner. You can find the majority of these items on our website at Fumari.com. • First, make sure everything is clean dry, and ready to use. Now fill your base with room temperature water. You can also use chilled water but very cold water will dilute the flavor of your hookah. One inch above the downstem is a general guideline for getting the right water level. However, every hookah is a little different and honestly, it also depends on your preference. Just make sure the water level is not below the downstem or too high above. Next, attach your stem to your base. You want the seal to be airtight so use a grommet that will be a good fit for your step. Finally, attach your hose to your hookah with a hose grommet. • So begin by stirring your tobacco so that the juices are evenly distributed. Next, use your fingers or a fork to add tobacco into the bowl. Pack it evenly and lightly until it's to the rim. You can use your hole poker or fingers to spread out and lightly pat down any tobacco so that your final pack is about one to two millimeters below the rim of the bowl. Now we're ready to foil our bowl. Use two layers of heavy-duty foil to avoid burning the top layer of tobacco. Be sure to put your foil on drum-tight and grab your hole poker or toothpick to poke plenty of holes for airflow. • If you're using a lotus or similar heat management device then you don't need to foil your bowl. Place it on top and you're ready to move on. Now you take your bowl grommet, put it on top, secure your bowl. Now let's go heat up some coal. Add three to four pieces of coal on your burner, turn it on to the highest temperature and wait for them to be halfway lit. Once they're halfway done they're ready to flip. Just make sure your coals are fully lit before you take them off the burner and add them to your hookah. • Now we're finally ready to sit back relax and enjoy all of our work!
