Children's Meditation - Happy Place Meditation. Using the five senses they can envisage a time or place where they felt totally calm and at peace....... • By Kim Norton - Rainbow Light Therapies - https://www.rainbowlighttherapies.com.au • This meditation allows our kids to take themselves to a place where they can they feel happy, calm and at peace in times of high stress or anxiety, a stress management strategy that gives our kids some control over their thoughts in a time where they feel nothing but out of control. • Using the five senses they can envisage a time or place where they felt totally calm and at peace and can take themselves back to that place whenever they need to, in any environment, at school, home, in the car, during a test, at a dance recital or at a medical appointment. • Once practised a few times it takes only a minute for them to land in their happy place and return to a state of calm and peace. • First, we start with a short muscle relaxation exercise but if your child needs a little more time to relax into the meditation then please see the full Progressive Muscle Relaxation script here. • Make yourself comfortable lying down. Make sure there are no distractions. All phones and other devices are switched off. Take a deep breath in and then, breathe out. Repeat this several times if needed to centre and calm yourself. • On your next breath in I want you to squeeze your feet muscles as tight as you can and as you breathe out, release the muscles in your feet and release the tension. • With your next breath in, squeeze your leg muscles really tight and as you breathe out, release the calf muscles and release the tension. • On your next breath in, we are going to work on the hips and buttocks. Breathe in and squeeze those butt cheeks as tight as you can and as you breathe out, release the muscles, release the tension. • Next is the stomach. Breathe in and squeeze those tummy muscles really, really tight and as you breathe out, release the muscles, release the tension. • Fists. I want you to make little fists of fury so as you breathe in squeeze those hands into little tight fists and as you breathe out, release the muscles, release the tension. • Arms. Breathe in and squeeze those arm muscles as tight as you can and as you breathe out, release the muscles, release the tension. • We will move into the shoulders now so as you breathe in, squeeze those shoulder muscles up to your ears and as you breathe out, drop those shoulder muscles into the bed or floor below you and release the muscles, release the tension....... • See the full script at: • https://rainbowlighttherapies.com.au/... • Kim X • www.rainbowlighttherapies.com.au • #childrensmeditation #meditation #kids #stress #anxiety #KimNorton #RainbowLightTherapies
