This first round can be used on it's own to make the dot to use over the letters i or j. • Continue working in rounds using the single crochet / double crochet without slip stitching to make the other sizes. • Make 8 rounds for the lower case i, you can make two of these and sew them together to create the lower case letter v. The lower case v can be used with a straight piece of 16 to make the letter k. • 8 rounds is also for the cross bar and the lower section of the letter f. • Make 16 rounds for the straight parts of letters such as p, d and b. • Make 16 rounds for the curved section of those same letters and the lower case letter c. Remember to leave long tail ends inside to help create the curved shape. • Make 2 pieces with 16 rounds and sew them together to make a capital V, this can also be used to make a capital F by adding a piece made with 8 rounds. • Make 24 rounds to create the lower case o or the capital C and the lower case letter e. • Make 48 rounds to make the capital O this is also the largest circle used for recreating the Jiahu symbols. • As you can see, all you need to do is mix and match the pieces together to create every letter in the English alphabet or make all the Jiahu symbols.
