The Lemon Pipers’ very short, “fast-rising”, one hit is at #9 today on the Billboard Hot 100 and will peak at #1 in 3 weeks. • If they were to play any of the other 9 songs on today’s TOP 10, which one would you vote for? The Raiders made it to the championship game with the help of an impressive young linebackers coach named John Madden. • In 2 days, on Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. will celebrate his 39th birthday. • • Baby, I Love You! – I hate that we lost a couple more 60’s music legends this week - Ronettes lead singer Ronnie Spector and The Platters former lead singer Sonny Turner.
