Boiling chicken can be one of the easiest ways to cook chicken for storage or use when you don't have much time to cook during the week. This cooking method is great for boiling chicken pieces, making shredded chicken or making a delicious broth for your Mexican recipes. • https://tuamigaenlacocina.com/how-to-... • I have many Mexican recipes in which I use cooked shredded chicken or chicken pieces. In this article, I am going to show both ways; how to boil chicken pieces and chicken breasts with delicious broth. • You'll love having both and broth ready to add to your meals and soups! • Ingredients: • 4 HALVES chicken breasts • ½ medium onion • 1 teaspoon of salt • Preparation: • 1- Place chicken breasts in a large pot and fill it with clean water. Make sure the water covers the chicken about 2 to 3 inches above, but, at the same time, you should leave some space at the top of the pot to prevent it from overflowing. • 2- Place the pot on top of the stove and set it on medium heat. • 3- Add a piece of onion and a teaspoon of salt. • 4- And bring to a boil. It may take 15-30 minutes depending on water and chicken temperature. • 5- Once the water starts to boil, slightly offset the lid to avoid overflowing and let it boil for 35 minutes more (with the pot partially covered). Stir occasionally while cooking and maintain a medium boil. • 6- After 35 minutes, turn off the heat and let the chicken breasts cool before removing them from the broth. • 7- Remove the breasts from the broth and shred to use in other preparations, or refrigerate. • 8- Strain the broth to have it clean and ready to use or save for the next preparations.
