Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, built by Grimshaw Architects in the United Kingdom, aims to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of certification allowed for sustainable building. • #expo #expo2020 #dubai • The 4,912 solar panels on Terra – the 130-meter-wide canopy of the Sustainability Pavilion and the 18 Energy Trees – help generate 4GWh of alternative energy. • The E-Trees have become a vital component of both the exhibition and the Pavilion site, presenting and educating visitors on research in solar harnessing and panel technology while also functioning as an integral part of the building's systems that contribute to the building's net zero energy goal. • Visitors will be taken on a tour across the world's forests and seas, as well as shown the impact humans have on the planet, in the galleries. • Inside, trails beneath the sea and through the rainforest present the natural world in a mesmerising 360-degree sensory feast before transitioning to harsh realities - think whale songs and rolling waves cutting through walls of plastic bottles and fake TV ads pushing plastic-filled tuna cans to the masses in the Sea of Consumption hall. • One of the two environmental immersions in the miracle of our biological systems is 'neath the forest.'
