Official name: Paignton North Level Crossing • Date filmed: 29/07/2019 • Route: The Riviera Line • Paignton Station • Location: Torbay Road, Paignton • Trains: 2 Class 143 'Pacers' (Great Western Railway) - 3:00 • Located on the very busy main road which runs through Paignton Town Centre. The footways here at this level crossing are very wide since a lot of pedestrians use this level crossing on a frequent basis, and all four barriers here are long as to cover the entire width of the wide footways as well as half of the width of the road itself each, the two of which on the side of the road closest to the pedestrian footbridge are the longest kind of barrier since the footway on this side of the road is wider than the footway on the other side of the road closer to the station. There are also four LED pedestrian lights, five LED wigwags, and two very loud alarms (the sounder of one of which has since been replaced) to warn pedestrians on this very busy road. Two of the LED wigwags here are set-up rather interestingly also. • Seen in this video filmed back in the height of the summer of 2019 is a class 143 'Pacer' rolling into the station to finish its journey. This kind of train has since been retired from the Great Western Railway Fleet as of December 2020. • Thanks for watching!
