A piece for Egyptian Ney flute inspired by Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem Ozymandias . • https://bit.ly/2ORgICI (picture from Tomb of Mehu at Saqqara, Sixth Dynasty, 2300 BC.) • A reed flute Ney is believed to be the most ancient musical instrument played up to this day. It dates back to predynastic Egypt 3000 BC and has a very simple design, it's just a piece of cane with seven holes in it. • These days Ney is a very common instrument in traditional Middle-Eastern music, in it's Turkish, Arabic and Persian variations. The one i play in this video is Arabic(Egyptian) Ney, tuning B Kiz. • I accompany the melody with Greek Bouzouki lute, Spanish Flamenco Guitar and frame drum Tar. • This track is a part of my debut mediterranean fusion album I met a traveller from an antique land , please check it out on bandcamp https://turrimaurea.bandcamp.com/rele...
