Lava Lamp Collection Vintage 52oz Lamps

A part of my collection of lava lamps. These are all 52oz size made by LavaLite, sub-brand of Lava-Simplex Int'l. • These lamps were all made by Lava-Simplex-Scribe Internationale, Inc. (often shortened to Lava-Simplex or the Lava Corporation). Lava was founded by Hy Spector and Adolph Werthenheimer in 1965 after bringing the newly invented novelty lamp over from Great Britain where it was invented. Lava's factory was in Chicago where they made hundreds of thousands of lamps over the years. In the late 1980's the LavaLite brand name was sold to Haggerty Enterprises, Inc and then in around 2003 Haggerty shipped production to China where quality took a drastic downfall. In 2005 they were sold to Lifespan Brands LLC and then in 2018 they were again sold to Schylling Co. Today, LavaLite is merely a resold toy company with no interest in their history and heritage.
