The Exhibition is an Emmy Award-Winning feature film documentary that follows contemporary artist, Pamela Masik on her five-year journey, creating 'The Forgotten' Project. • This is a massive collection of sixty-nine, 8 x 10 -foot paintings, depicting the missing and murdered women from Vancouver's notorious Downtown Eastside, otherwise known as North America's most poverty-stricken and drug-inflicted 6 block radius. • At the time, the artist's studio was located within this community and while there was a public outcry to find these mothers, daughters, sisters and friends, the authorities virtually ignored the issue and viewed these women as inconsequential. It struck a chord with Masik enough to use her voice to confront society with our role in this tragedy. • The collection was set to be shown in the artist's first Museum Exhibition, however, due to political conflicts of interest, the show was cancelled in 2011.
