Choosing the correct size bodyboard is hugely important and often not calculated properly for beginner bodyboarders. You need a board that is the right length and width for your height, build and types of waves you will be riding. For a general guide look at the size guide on our website here (http://bodyboarders.com.au/buying-adv...) for a general rule. To get the correct size, measure the distance from the top of your knees to your lip in inches. Boards that are too big will push water and will be much harder to control, boards that are too small will lack floatation and will be harder to catch waves on. However you can also adapt to the conditions - if you normally ride small beach breaks then an inch bigger would be a smart choice, whereas if you ride larger barreling reefs a inch smaller would be more suited. I’m 5’11 (181cm) tall and weigh 82kgs and ride a 42.5” board in all prone waves.
