This video is about E-Passport. • Everything you need to know about the e-passport. • What is E-Passport? • Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of chip-based e-passport for Indian citizens at the 15th Pravasiya Bhartiya Divas held at Varanasi, UP (2019). • E-Passport is similar to the traditional passport with one key difference. E-Passports contain an embedded electromagnetic chip that holds the key details of the passport holder including name, gender, date of birth, the signature of the issuing officer, passport holder’s photo, and details of the last 30 trips. • E-Passports will first be issued to the diplomatic officials and later to the public.
