Jonathan Teitelbaum, MD, Pediatric Gastroenterology, an RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group provider, discusses his philosophy of care. • Dr. Teitelbaum is board certified both in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. He completed his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and his residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He then went on to complete his fellowship at Harvard University's combined program in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at The Children's Hospital, Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital. An associate professor for Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Teitelbaum is also an active researcher, lecturer and author. He has published more then 50 peer-reviewed research articles, abstracts, topic reviews and book chapters on a variety of topics including: advanced endoscopic techniques, inflammatory bowel disease, probiotics, food allergies, celiac disease and the use of fish oils for various diseases. Dr. Teitelbaum also served as the editor of two medical reference books in pediatrics. Dr. Teitelbaum is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Gastroenterological Association, North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and an active board member and medical advisor for the New Jersey chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
