Sonny Condell and Leo O'Kelly met in Dublin in 1969 and started playing together as Tír na nÓg, mainly singing their own compositions. After they travelled to London and began touring the folk clubs, they produced three studio albums (between 1971 and 1973). Due to their intricate and complex guitar work they were often compared to bands such as The Incredible String Band and Pentangle. However, their style was quite distinctive. Often, they would use different open tunings for their two guitars. • This song is from their first album, and after all these years is still one of my favorites.
