Why didn't I do this sooner? I have spent far too much time and effort swapping standard sandpaper on my G0458 Drum Sander, and finally decided to attempt a swap using a hook loop conversion kit for a larger model of drum sander. • The result? It still sands the same (which was the point!) and the finish is great. • So what's the difference? I can swap out grits way, way faster thanks to the hook and loop-backed sandpaper. • Please note: This kit was designed for the G1066R 24 Drum Sander from Grizzly, which is a larger machine with dual drums. That's actually a good thing in my case, because it meant I had a backup in case I botched the first attempt at cutting the angles. • Rest assured, I cover the specs you'll need for a G0458 or G0458Z Grizzly Drum Sander in this video, and you can do similar modifications like I did to get it to fit other drum sizes. • So yeah, is this worth the money?
