PS Waverley's Engines running flat out at 8 past the E . The regulator valve was open fully as the Waverley headed home up river to Glasgow for the last time in 2011. A rare sight as she is seldom pushed this hard but even after 64 years she can still replicate the speed and revolutions achieved on her trials in 1947, a tribute to all those who have helped preserve this unique ship. • Triple expansion steam engine, 2,100 indicated horse power (1,566kW) built by Rankin Blackmore, Eagle Foundry, Greenock 1946. Cylinders, 24″, 39″ and 62″, Length of Stroke 66 .
