Sam Feagley, Ph.D., Professor and State Soil Environmental Specialist, Texas A M University (https://soilcrop.tamu.edu/staff/feagl...) speaks about Land Application of Drilling Fluids: Landowner Considerations. Dr. Feagley talks about the composition of drilling fluid as well as the pros and cons of applying mud to agricultural land. This presentation was made at the Land Application of Drilling Mud seminar hosted by The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation on May 23, 2013 in Ardmore, Okla. • Drilling fluid (mud) is a by-product of oil and gas drilling. The drilling process produces barrels of the fluid that must be handled in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. One method is to apply it on agricultural land.
