There are 13 mimic chests in Dark Souls 3. A mimic chest looks like a regular chest, but if you try to open it then it will eat you and deal serious damage to you. There is a way to spot a mimic though, and that's if the chain on the right is curved towards you. if it isn't a mimic it curves inwards. This video will show you the locations of them all so you don't have to worry about running into any of them. • There is no trophy / achievement involved for killing the mimics, however, some mimics do drop items which you need for spells etc. • You can also get a Symbol of Avarice to drop from them. It is not a guaranteed drop! Even if you have killed all 13. best thing to do is get your item discovery high before opening one of them. You can farm them as well. Find a mimic chest, and put him to sleep with an Undead hunter Charm . it will open its mouth and you can take the item from it. if it didn't have a symbol of avarice, quit the game and try again.
