In this video, we'll show you how to replace the engine oil. The example car is an E91 318i with an N43 engine. • Before the oil change, you should drive the vehicle for a few miles to warm up the oil. • Oil Amounts: • ➥ N42, N43, N45, N46 : 4.25 Litres • ➥ N52, N53, N54, N55: 6.5 Litres • ➥ N47, M47: 5.2 Litres • ➥ N57, M57: 7.5 Litres • The oil should have a BMW LL-04 clearance. • Filter Part Numbers: • ➥ N42, N43, N45, N46 : 11427508969 • ➥ N47 : 11427807177 • ➥ M47 : 1142778769 • ➥ N52, N53, N54, N55: 11427953129 • ➥ M57: 11427788460 • ➥ N57: 11427808443 • Required tools: • ➥ Size 17 socket • ➥ Oil filter cap (16 / 86mm) • ➥ Slotted screw driver • ➥ Oil collection container • For jacking up: • ➥ Wedges • ➥ Static jacks • ➥ Robust(!) hydraulic jack • Never get under the vehicle while it is not securely raised.
