(19 Feb 1995) Serbo-Croat/Nat • • • Arkan, the Serbian paramilitary leader at the top of the war crimes wanted list in the former Yugoslavia was married Sunday, amid glitz and glamour that belies three years of war and United Nations sanctions. • • The leader of the notorious Tigers, the feared paramilitary unit which is accused of ethnic cleansing in Croatia and Bosnia, wed 21 year old top folk singer Svetlana Velickovic Ceca in a lavish ceremony in Belgrade. • • It had all the appeal of a society wedding. • • In Serbia, Arkan, Zeljko Raznatovic, is a national hero - his wedding Sunday to Folk singer Ceca was a cause for celebration. • • Others may look more sceptically, Arkan is top of the wanted war criminals list in the former Yugoslavia.
