The Royals took the field looking to even the American League Divisional Series vs. the Yankees with Cole Ragans headed to the mound. The Yankees broke through on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning, but the Royals would not stay down for long. Salvador Perez stepped to the plate to lead off the top of the 4th and launched a 402' blast to even the scoreboard. The Royals would continue to rally in the wake of the Captain's game-tying home run, as Tommy Pham, Garrett Hampson, and Maikel Garcia would each drive in runs to put the Royals ahead 4-1.
