Easy homemade eggnog recipe, great for a Holiday party (not this year, hopefully), or as a gift for friends. You'll never go back to a store bought carton. • Instagram: https://bit.ly/36UcOSt • -------------------------------------------------------------- • Recipe: Alcohol and ingredients can be tweaked based on how sweet/frothy/boozy you like it. Could probably cut the alcohol in half on this one...but why would you? • 10 eggs • 2 cups sugar, separated • 16 oz whole milk • 12 oz heavy cream • 18 oz bourbon • 4 oz aged rum • (could sub anything here, irish whiskey, white rum, Madeira. I've heard of a recipe with mezcal but might leave that to someone else to try) • whole nutmeg grated • 1. Separate egg whites and yolks • 2. Whisk yolks, adding 1 c of the sugar, until thick and several shades lighter • 3. Whisk whites, adding the rest of the sugar, until light and airy • 4. Add milk and cream to egg yolks, and stir to incorporate • 5. Add alcohol, stir again • 6. Fold in egg whites with a spatula, taste, and adjust if need be for sugar and alcohol.
