AN EXCELLENT DISCOVERY CHANNEL VINTAGE 2001 FEATURE. The park operations haven't changed too much. See my comment below for what this is and why it has been re-uploaded. I added a convenient time code on the right side. The links on the left side don't work. YouTube doesn't use annotations anymore. See my homepage Playlists instead. I hope you enjoy the efforts • Info from the box and the Internet: “TV Special Alternate Title: Discovery Sunday. Original airdate July 16, 2001. Program description: A documentary about Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point grew from an old-fashioned amusement park in 1867 to a 364-acre, record-breaking ”America’s Roller Coast.“ The park is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the park with the largest number of amusement rides and attractions in the world (68), and the largest number of roller coasters in the world (14). Overlooking Lake Erie, Cedar Point is home to a number of Top 10-ranking roller coasters, including Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200 and Raptor. Executive Producers: Erik Nelson, Suzy Geller Wolf Genre: Documentary” • Note that the original VHS program is presented here in the correct aspect ratio 4:3 full frame so there was pillar boxed room on the left and right sides to accomplish my relevant design additions. I added a title watermark to the bottom of the program because not everyone understood it’s from 2001. • It is a very interesting feature. The core behind-the-scenes daily activities are not that much different than today. And it is very well done. They cover a lot of material in less than an hour. This is good free promotion for the park and Discovery Channel imho • It’s also interesting to see how the park has changed yet maintains it’s Cedar Point amusement park identity as the roller coaster capital of the world and Mid-west family vacation destination on a Lake Erie peninsula. A very unique and esthetically interesting place to visit and document. I see or learn something every time I’m there as a Platinum Season Pass holder once a week since 2006. • Enjoy, Like, Share, Embedding is turned on for social media web sites and blogs it counts as a view on YouTube, check out my convenient playlists, Subscribe, Click Send Me Updates when you do for more interesting videos!
