Exploring Zaanse Schans Village of Windmills The BEST Day Trip from Amsterdam

I take a bus to the beautiful area of Zaanse Schans in Zaandam. The town is a great spot for a day trip from Amsterdam. There are many old and historic windmills with colorful wooden homes. Zaanse Schans is a great example of a traditional Dutch countryside village. I first check out the Wooden Shoe Workshop of Zaanse Schans and see how clogs are made. Then I enjoy a lunch at Restaurant De Kraai before I explore the cheese museum and eat free samples at Henri Willig. After that I visit the De Kat Windmill or The Cat Windmill, which had amazing views.
