THIS IS Husqvarna TE 150i DRIT BIKE IN 2022. • The Husqvarna TE 150i is the little brother of the TE 250i and TE 300i. While Husqvarna’s two-stroke motocross and cross-country models all look similar chassis-wise, the TE line is cut from a different cloth. These bikes are targeted to perform at their best in enduro and hard enduro settings. At 232 pounds wet on the Dirt Rider automotive scales, the TE 150i is one of the lightest enduro bikes on the market. • Once on the pipe, the bike absolutely rips. The lower first and second gears allow you to keep it fairly close to that perfect spot, where the power is right there when you need it. You do need to cover the clutch lever at all times, just for those moments when you miss a downshift or simply need to pick up the rpm in a split second. • 2022 Husqvarna TE 150i Chassis/Handling • Another major part of the TE 150i that makes it stand apart from the motocross and off-road competition models is the chassis, and it’s quickly noticeable while riding. It has a much more aggressive stance in an effort to turn quicker and feel smaller. It may give up a touch of the Austrian brands’ stability, but not enough to call it unstable in any way. Equal to the suspension, the chassis handling benefits from the smaller engine and low weight. • How Does the 2022 Husqvarna TE 150i Ride? • The TE 150i can be a superfun bike when ridden correctly. The TPI system works amazingly well on this engine, much better than on the larger-displacement powerplants with the same fuel-injection system including the TE 250i and TE 300i. Throttle response is clean from zero to 100 percent throttle. Even though this is only a 150, the TPI does a good job of smoothing out the typical, sometimes hard to control, spike in a smaller two-stroke engine’s powerband. • Overall, the power is good, but naturally it’s not comparable to its 300cc big brother. Ridden correctly, it will get you around the trails easily and just as quickly as on a 300 though. The only penalty is when you let it fall off the pipe. The TE 150i handles very well, especially in technical areas. It turns way sharper than expected, almost equal to a Yamaha YZ125X. The TPI system is a nice benefit in this area too in that it helps with roll-on and helps with finding traction. • The TE 150i has a wide range of customers. This motorcycle could easily be considered for a younger rider ready to move up from an 85cc two-stroke or a new adult novice rider, as it is possibly one of the least intimidating full-size bikes to learn on.
