#MySydney2000 #Sydney2000 • The Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games was held on Wednesday 18 October at 8pm at Sydney Olympic Park. • To celebrate the 20 year anniversary, we invite you to relive the magic that was the Opening Ceremony with a special highlights package. • Featuring over 6,000 performers and hosted by Australian actor Bryan Brown, the ceremony included artists; Jeffrey St. John, Kylie Minogue, Yothu Yindi, Nathan Cavaleri, Melissa Ippolito, Taxiride, Billy Thorpe, Jack Thompson, Renee Geyer, Tina Harris, Vanessa Amorosi, Christine Anu and Graeme Connors. • Australian Paralympian Tracey Cross took the oath on behalf of the athletes and Para-equestrian referee Mary Longden took the oath on behalf of the officials. • The Paralympic Torch entered the stadium and was passed from Katrina Webb to Louise Sauvage who lit the cauldron. • Our thanks to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for providing the footage to support our 20-year anniversary celebrations.
