In this tutorial on personification we will be exploring: What is personification and exploring simple and complex literary examples of personification. • The aim of this tutorial is to teach viewers what personification is and to encourage them to recognise it in novels and texts that they are reading. In particular identifying personification helps our inference skills and allows us to read between the lines of the text and identify authorial intent/purpose. • This video is also helpful to introduce the concept of personification for students to use within their own writing. The literature examples used in the video are from To Kill a Mockinbird by Harper Lee and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. • This is a good video for students who are being introduced to personification either as a writing device or to recognise in texts.
