Remove the pregnancy test cap to expose the tip. Place the tip downward in your urine stream for five seconds for the early results pregnancy test and 10 seconds for the one-step pregnancy test. Or collect a sample of your urine in a container, and dip your test in for 20 seconds for the early pregnancy test and 10 seconds for the one-step test. The early pregnancy test shows nothing if it's negative, and a vertical line if it's positive.
