The bootmgr file is usually stored on the System Reserved drive or on the C drive . If a drive is stored inside the bootmgr file, the partition status is active , but if the partition state is inactive , an error File: \\Boot\\BCD. Status: 0xc000000f. Will occur. • Solution: • 1. Create a Windows 10 bootable USB flash disk. • 2. Insert the Windows 10 bootable USB flash, restart the computer and boot from the USB DISK. • 3. Next, go to the Repair your computer menu • 4. Troubleshoot, Advanced options, Command Prompt. • 5. In the Command Prompt, enter the command: • diskpart • list disk (displays a list of disks) • select disk 0 (Disk 0 = hard disk, Disk 1 = USB flash disk) • list partition (display the hard disk partition table) • select partition 1 (usually the bootmgr file is in partition 1) • active (set the partition state to active) • 6.
