Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. This is from Show #43 - Movie 1, Break 3. It was directed by Dave Dillman. And that's Joe Oher doing the clapboard, who later also produced and directed (and did some writing) on the Son of Svengoolie show. • This one features an appearance by Chet Coppock - giving a pie in the face to Svengoolie during the Scare Mail segment. Sven also talks about the losing campaign of Sig Sakowitz and sings him a goodbye song. Sig was a columnist for the Sun-Times and radio talk-show host who apparently ran an unsuccessful campaign for President at one time. • Note: the voice at about 25 seconds in that says And what was that? was done by Rich Koz. • This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, November 10th 1972. (recorded on Tuesday, November 7th 1972) • About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television: • The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,000+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at: • http://www.fuzzymemories.tv/index.php...
