This is the Medicine Master Buddha mantra performed by Reverend Heng Sure and Fabrizio Alberico in Reedsport, Oregon. Medicine Master Buddha is seen as a doctor who aids people when he is called upon, and with his spirit and teaching help them get through their bad days. His teachings are like medicine, a remedy to healing both body and mind. And when you begin to chant this in Sanskrit, as Fab said, It's about surrendering. It's about the vibrations that the sounds make when you chant in Sanskrit; it actually vibrates through your body. This mantra in particular, really resonates with me and I felt the heart centered. So I encourage, if you are chanting along, don't worry too much about the pronunciation, and just do your best. Chant for a few minutes or chant for thirty minutes, and then sit quietly and feel how the mantra continues to resonate through your body. • There's something new and old in this performance on top of the Oregon hills. The instrumental sound is fresh and new. A banjo and an acoustic aren't the typical dharma instruments. This mantra is ancient; where in Southeast Asia the original style is still being chanted. If it's chanted sincerely with mind and heart settled on the lines of the mantra, with it comes something full and wholesome that resonates within and out, transcends location, and is deeper than that of the Oregon forest. • Here are the lines of the mantra: • namo bhagavate bhaiṣajyaguru • vaiḍūryaprabharājāya tathāgatāya • arhate samyaksambuddhāya tadyathā: • oṃ bhaiṣajye bhaiṣajye mahābhaiṣajya-samudgate svāhā. • You can also see Fabrizio Alberico sharing his thought on this mantra at    • Avatamsaka Sutra Lecture at Berkeley ...
