He wields powerful and rhythmic groundstrokes and a solid service motion! • What stood out to me is how seemingly effortless he can generate pace and spin! In combination with his height, he can get great net clearance while delivering powerful and penetrative groundstrokes... • His groundstrokes are similar to Djokovics... His backhand is textbook perfect as he has an early unit turn, long and continuous low-to-high stroke, weight transfer through the ball, and a natural follow through over the top of the opposite shoulder. Following through over the top of the opposite shoulder ensures you have the correct racket swing path to hit topspin and decrease the chance of hitting into the net... • His forehand is also technically incredible! He brings the racket back with both hands, has his right elbow away from his body (which you can see his partner lacks) and follows through naturally and comfortably... • He consistantly hits the ball deep with heavy topspin with such a relaxed and easy motion. To top it all off, there was quite a bit of wind from right to left and Jannik made no unforced errors from the wind.
