OBS Base Canvas and Output Resolution Combination Comparison 1440p Monitor

UPDATE: You can set the downscale filter to bilinear to achieve the same effect as when using both canvas and output 720p. • -- NOTE -- • This video is the result of my curiosity of which one is best canvas and output resolution combination using 1440p monitor when streaming and recording to 1080p or 720p. For the best quality, please watch it on 1440p or you can download the source video (LINK BELOW). • In my opinion the best combination is 1:1 e.g. 1440p-1440p, 1080p-1080p and 720p-720p. • Even though the result on lower resolution is a bit blurry overall but it's better on hardware usage and small text are more readable than using native or miss match canvas and output resolution e.g. 1440p-1080p, 1440p-720p and 1080p-720p. • Also, when monitoring bitrate usage while recording, using NVENC CQ Level 20, 1440p-720p use more bitrate (around 10% more) than 720p-720p combination (this also happens with other miss match combinations).
