In this GRE Vocab Wednesday video, Chris Lele from Magoosh goes over words that start with the letter M. The first word in this video is milieu, which refers to the social context or environment of something. Next up we have magisterial. This refers to people who show a lot of authority and speak down on others in an imposing way. Then we have mien. This is not the same as mean! The word mien refers to person's facial expression, demeanor or overall manner. If you want to be a well liked teacher, you should not have a magisterial mien! The last word in today's video is magniloquent. Someone that's magniloquent wants to be taken very seriously, and uses a lot of fancy, long words when they talk.
