God of War 2018 fast movement tactic Agile Strike

Well, it wouldn't be a God of War without some silly looking fast movement technique. • 1. have Kratos unarmed and Agile Strike purchased. • 2. hold down aim or block AND L-stick forward. • 3. tap 'light attack' and 'evade' alternately at a fast pace. • Doing all this lets Kratos perform Agile Strike without any cooldown, which grants not only a high speed but also works as a fight tactic against certain foes since it allows Kratos to be ultra-aggressive. You attack fast and keep some enemies permanently stunned in the process. • Turning during the movement is possible by using R-stick, but it takes a bit of practice. I recommend only turning Kratos at the start of any Agile Strike, because this way there's a smaller chance the timing becomes messed up. • This is also the fastest possible movement technique while buffering a prompt, but it remains to be seen if that will come in handy anywhere. • I hereby name this technique... Agile Strike Spam (ASS)...? • Note: this was played on the unpatched version. If the trick some day works differently, it may be the result of patches. • --- • As for potential drawbacks... • getting Agile Strike costs 1000 exp, which may be a bit costly in a speedrun? But I'm not sure about the exp route, so who knows. • this tactic can't be used wherever Kratos can't evade. • on short distances sprint or interrupted sprint is nearly as effective and much easier to do. • Agile Strike may become outdated as an offensive tool fairly quick as the game progresses, but I haven't tested much with it in combat later in the game yet, so this is another hypothetical issue. • the game's woefully inadequate camera / lock-on rears its ugly head if you use Agile Strike Spam against any faster or stronger enemies. Kratos moves so fast that enemies usually slide out of his focus sooner or later, which is really annoying. • moving this fast makes you eventually hit loading screens, so that reduces its usefulness in some areas. • --- • 0:00 - the basics of how the technique looks like. • 0:24 - example of using the technique in combat. In case you're wondering, the difficulty in this clip is Normal. • 0:32 - another example. The difficulty is Normal or Easy. (I'm not completely sure.) • You likely don't have Agile Strike this early in the game in a speedrun, but I thought this clip demonstrated well how Kratos can catch up to enemies and keep up aggression with the tactic. • 0:58 - I made a small movement speed comparison out of curiosity. In these clips Kratos moves from the blacksmith checkpoint to the other side of the bridge. • Upper-left is the fastest quick rolling tactic I know of. Upper-right is Agile Strike Spam. Lower-left is regular sprinting. Lower-right is interrupted sprinting. • (A quick explanation of interrupted sprint: sprinting causes diminishing results very fast. But if you let go of L-stick every few steps, starting a new sprint gets you back to maximum speed again. It's demonstrably faster than normal sprinting.)
