Investing in a Certificate of Deposit or CD can be a great way to diversify investments. Certificate of Deposits are great to hold in a well-balanced portfolio especially when the interest rates are high enough. • What happens to a CD (Certificate of Deposit) upon maturity? That is why I made this video. The chances of getting a CD at a good rate is quite low these days because the interests offered by most banks are low unless you find good credit unions that offer something decent. • What any investor wants to avoid is to invest in a Certificate of Deposit for the long term and get low returns on the principal. This can cause the money invested to lose value to inflation.
