He answers prayer in His time and in His wisdom He will deal with all evil injustices-Day of Judgement • God's Holiness-Ch 1 • • V6 Babylonians God's instrument-God ordains war • • V12-13 God is holy ‘too pure to look upon evil’ • • God's way not our ways; more wicked than Judah • • Prayer must always begin with God, not our wants • • Ch 2:20 “The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him” • God's Faithfulness-CH 2 • • V2-3 God will judge in His time, we need patience, God is faithful to His promises • • V4 ‘The righteous person shall live by his faith’ • • We remain faithful because of His faithfulness (Christ Jesus) • • V14 ‘For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea’ • • Isa 49,15-16 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands” • • 2Tim 2:13 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself” • God's Justice-Ch 3 • • V1 Prophet’s response to God is a psalm of prayer as reminded again of Israel’s exodus from Egypt • • V2 ‘In wrath remember mercy.’ We need mercy, NOT justice. Prophet is repenting of his sin • • V13 God delivers His anointed one-us! • • V16 ‘Wait patiently for the Day of calamity’ • • V17-18 “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior” • • True joy, peace contentment not in these 6 foods • • Nothing certain in this life, future glory of Christ only thing that matters • • True justice then for His children. Have you repented in Jesus? God's wrath to the unsaved. Ask for mercy NOT justice • • In Christ only can you live life to the full and be at peace. He dealt with our wickedness injustice on the cross. • • V19 “The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to tread on the heights” • “The people of the world focus on what they are overcoming. Christians focus on what they are becoming (EG Day by Day)
