Your feet take a beating every single day. Think about it π€ You shove them into skinny shoes without a care in the world, and then ask them to support your bodyweight for hours at a time. So it’s about time you give them some lπve, eh? • We were born to be able to spread our toes wide apart like our hands π but if you have neglected the whole foot love thing for the last decade or more like many of us, you might have lost the ability to spread them the way nature intended you do π • Toe Spread Challenge: Sit on a chair and lift one foot in the air. How far apart can you spread your toes? Can you manage to create a gap between all five of them? If you can, spend some time spreading away, working all the little forgotten muscles that have been suffocated in a shoe for the last eight hours. • If you can’t do that, that’s OK. There’s a secondary option π • Sit on a chair, and plant your foot on the ground. Drive against the ground, using the floor to spread your feet as much as you can. Again, hang out there, spread eagle, foot-style. • Why do this? Regularly practicing spreading your toes helps you strengthen the muscles in your feet, which helps with balance and injury prevention.
