First Kashmir War India and Pakistan 1947 to 1948

First Kashmir war or the first war between India and Pakistan was fought between October 1947 to November 1948 with ceasefire declared on 1st Jan. 1949. This war was fought for Kashmir as during independence Kashmir also remained an independent state which had not joined either Pakistan Or India. But when Pakistan attacked Kashmir than Maharaja Hari Singh decided to merge with India and agreement of accession was signed on 26th Oct. 1947.
